I have moved to LJ.

Sunday, September 11, 2005

I'm in the middle of writing/editing my programme notes and I started on a blog-reading spree. To be precise, LJs. Haha, it's much easier to just read everything at one glance. Which is also the reason for thinking of switching =D

Jin Yong's going to TAIWAN on 21st September for a fanclub gathering. AND WHERE AM I STUCK? In Singapore doing my OPTIONS. They should just allow the Sec 4s not to go to school and just maybe, I can persuade my parents to let me go there with friends. UGH. It's such sadness that Singapore is too negligible for many big events.

Speaking of which, I watched 10 mins of She Diao. >< It was bad. Either my memory is failing me (very terribly at that) or the storyline has simply been changed so much that I can't recognize it. I prefer to attribute it to the latter =P Ho, but it's time I re-read my books. Pretty sure there'll be new discussions at the forum after Jin Yong's visit to Taiwan. The actor for Guo Jing is really quite... weird. I mean, he acts like an idiot... Guo Jing is not smart, but he's not that stupid either. Weirdness. And I thought China's adaptations would be better. Oh well, they need to learn where to stop when it comes to CG. *thinks of Channel 8 chi zi cheng long*

Yes, I shall go back to being productive. Oh yes, there's Chinese on Monday >< Darn.

Oh, check this out if you need a laugh, but don't take it too seriously. I find it funny =D
I'm blogging because I'm stoning in school and I'm bored. I know I should be studying >< Oh well, after this I'll go look at my french stuff. Chem's OVER!!! Bleh... Hoping to aim for something higher than a pass this time round. The classroom's nice when it's all quiet and there's no one else to disturb =D I have it ALL to myself ahahaha.

I'm broke *sobs* Someone help me out here. Remind me not to spend money >< I need to get gifts for people who have been nice, not forgetting I have birthday presents for my cousin plus my sis. Hah, at least it's simple enough for my sis.

Hm, I realise that's really not much to talk about. Plenty to rant though, but this is SO not the time. I should consider closing this blog liao. Then I'll shift to LJ =D

I'm dropping hair quite drastically >< Clara would know. My family complains about the disgusting amount of hair I drop around the house and it so does not help that I watched The Ring (and fear it) and that it's the Seventh Lunar Month -_-;; Next time you see a bald person walking around resembling me, don't doubt. It's me.

I went to try the grand piano at YMS yesterday. I was rather awed by the piano but VERY DAMN disgusted at my playing. As if I don't play lousy enough already, all my mistakes were magnified, right down to the tiniest one. The lower bass keys are also a bit stiff so when I attempted to do chords with double piano, there's no sounds even though the keys went down!!! *thinks Cat and Mouse's last part* *freaks out*.

The Uncle/Caretaker there was quite cool. I went in about 10 mins late, because I went somewhere else before then, and then I took a wrong turn too early. And when my time was supposed to end at 4.30, no one came in to chase me out so obviously I continued playing. I mean, I paid $40 for a damn hour, so what's with a few more mins? Haha, when the uncle came in he said the lady at the reception wanted to see me (probably to deduct the time I exceeded yesterday from my second booking), and he said she might want me to pay more, therefore he told me to just leave and he would tell her he forgot to tell me. That's so nice. I've been very lucky in terms of human relationships lately. Most of the new people I meet are nice and helpful ie the printing team from sch. They are so so nice.

Anyway, after the practice session, I was sure beyond any shred of doubt that I'd fail. Before that, even though I think I'll probably fail too, I held a glimmer of hope that if I practised hard enough, I may be able to scrape by with a passing mark. But after yesterday, I was so demoralised and certain that I'd fail for good. Indulged in a slurpee to wallow in my misery and ranted to EnYi when I got home. After all, she has always been the one stressing me out =P Sorry EnYi >< Then at night, called up Ivana to bother her lol. She confirmed that the piano has an anti-slip layer that was yellowish and not yellowish tint caused by old age. Haha, was quite amused.

Today after the maths lesson in school, I opened up the lid of the grand piano in the foyer to reconfirm my doubt. I needed the help of others because the lid was rather heavy and it was the first time I opened it. They think the Cat and the Mouse sounds too loud and scary... Oh dear... That with all my wrongly-banged notes, it'll probably sound like the Crazy Cat and the Mad Mouse. And I still can't play completely from memory. Yikes, shall go die later. Oh but the tuning man came today. he said a string was spoilt. THERE, I knew it. The B flat sounded horribly. Now my keys are good again =D

Ok, enough of my own ranting. I need to get a life. Ironically, I wrote in the formative bao zhang bao dao that blogging is good and crapped up a whole lot of rubbish heh. Lao Shi's going to give me a lousy mark again.

Acutally, this week hasn't been that bad. Here, I must thank Yin Qi for poking me to keep me awake. For some reason, she's usually quite cheerful in the morning while I'll be gloomy (guess why?) or grouchy, so after her chit-chatting and whatever not I'll usually feel better before the first block. Felicia has also been entertaining us with her bead-threading. The things she make are really quite nice, maybe she can sell them in the future lol. And our whole group watched quite a bit of tv when we were young. During Physics and CLE lessons on Thurs we were reminiscing about all the shows we used to work and laughing very hard. Hohoho, time does fly by, but memories will still remain.

5566's 3rd album is out!! I collected it yesterday (no it's not the reason why I was late)! BUT I haven't listened to it yet because the speakers of my comp are spoilt and my sister and brother are hogging the other CD-playing devices. I am rendered broke again *sniffles*

There's school tomorrow. How sad. Two and a half days seem to have flown by without knowing.

Monday was a good day. It rained so the school's plot to disguise us as the flag failed. Heehee. Performance was ok, most of the time was talking to Mingfang or lauhging with EnYi about certain composers not very, uh, usual habits. Jo got third! A reward for the efforts she and the others put in. After that we went to Clara's house because she has a Steinway lol. Also because we like Clara a lot *nods*. Ivana and I now have a deal. We'll remind each other not to spend money so we can save up for the next diploma retest. EnYi is not included because we don't think she'll fail. She has the highest chances. Still, I don't think either of them will fail. I probably will, although I hate to think so. I just hope to scrape a pass. Clara's Steinway's keys are rather hard... I think I left skin when I did a glissando. Lol time to harden my thumb. Mingfang, Ivana and I visited the playground before we left =D Haha it was quite crazy. There were only 2 swings and they were occupied by the two of them so I wanted to play with the monkey bars. BUT there was a couple on the platform of the slide and monkey bars and I was not THAT thick-skinned enough to go there. We contemplated Plan to irritate couple but didn't carry it out in the end. Sadness. Ivana ATTEMPTED to climb a tree. Haha, it was too steep and it had ANTS on it. Mingfang and I tried too but it just couldn't be done. Then we went off, hot and sweaty.

Tuesday was BAD. Demoralising bad and pain bad. My relatives from Guangzhou are here so we had lunch at this restaurant. Unfortunately, it had this step that I failed to see so I landed too heavily on my left foot and flopped on the floor. It swelled quite badly but was still ok. The second misfortunate was that it was a buffet lunch, meaning we get our food ourselves. Hah I made my brother act as a leaning stick while I limped around. I met my cousin who has the same surname for the first time. It was the first time her father and my father meet too, not counting the arrival at the airport. Quite interesting, she speaks Canto, Hainanese and Chinese. I asked her stuff about the entertainment scene there. Surprisingly, a lot of variety shows from Taiwan are imported that. After lunch, I went to my grandmother's where she and my mum conspired to rub medicated oil on my foot. THAT WAS WRONG! I should iced it before they did anything. I suspect it's more swollen than ever after their rubbing. At least they didn't bring me to a sinseh. My aunt SUGGESTED it. How could she! What a horrifying thought.

Then I limped to Ivana's house where she listened to my pieces. Thanks to her criticism, I now have a stronger desire to improve. I'm going to get her chocs for the hours she spent listening to a lousy pianist =D Haha everytime before my exam I would make her listen to me. Should think of a way to repay her. Oh yes, my new resolution is to not play anymore Beethoven pieces until after the dip exam. I play too hard ><

Today was... ok. Minus the pain. It is now really swollen. My sis even said it looks like a pig's foot, and I can't agree more. Gah, it's the rubbing I tell you! I'm almost sure. Other than the limping, I practised finger exercises that were quite tiring too. But they were definitely good because I can feel the strain in the fingers, especially those on the left. Therefore I shall strive to correct all mistakes by end of the week, before the lesson on Sunday. Didn't go today because I really can't walk much and also because I rather practised more first.

Right, here ends the boring account of my life. 35 more days to THE exam =(

Great. My USB port and SD card port are both down. I can't save my photos from my card now. Darn. The card is overloaded and I need to send some pics to someone. Argh might have to do it in school then.

Hahaha, I don't believe that our school is actually a polling station for the presdiential election and we have to evacuate school by 12 on Friday therefore lessons end at 11.30. Hohoho, August seems to be a pretty good month if not for the assessments that I'll have to go through.

Piano lesson today was fruitful. I learnt more ways of articulating my pieces properly. They sort of sound better, but I won't be sure until I get someone to listen and comment. Bleh my program notes and copies of the scores are still undone and are due on the next lesson, which is Weds >.< Then I went to the library and borrowed books to read about composers and stuff. Haha there was a book entitled "Beethoven's hair" lol. Hopefully I can stick to reading these books, return them and borrow more in hope of broadening my knowledge in 37 days. Hmmm, if I read 1 in 3 days, I can read about 10, minus the days I slack or actually study. Quite an ambitious target to meet.

*yawn* Feeling sleepy already. But I'll have to wait for 3 new torrents to be uploaded first. Quick quick *nudges administrators*

Saturday, August 06, 2005

See, I do update more often now. My comp's sort of up now, except the internet is cranky and I can't do Live Update for Norton. Just deleted 2 trojans >< Plus THERE IS NO SOUND. At all. I tried installing the hardware again, but NO, it simply refused to be re-installed. Therefore I shall reboot the whole system over the National Day hols =D

Speaking of which, it's 38 more days to piano diploma exam =( AHHH. What can I do in a month to pull my performance and musical knowledge up? Shit. I must motivate myself to work hard. Feel quite bad for Ern though, to get such a lousy date. I am very grateful that I'm given a longer time to brush up. I haven't heard Ivana play for a long time, hopefully she's better than ever and can do well for the dip. I just hope I won't cry when my results come.

Chinese mock today. Very bad date, considering it's on Saturday and usually Friday night=playtime for me. Therefore I studied 2 kes at home. And a few more on the train admist the nodding off. Plus a few more in school. I didn't even finish the shang ke ben. Good thing I look through all the harder words in shang on Friday. I feel quite cheated though. Most of the stuff were doable, except for dian bo and the comprehension passage which is quite crap, in my humble opinion. The writer is trying to flaunt his/her language. Hmph. Dian bo was bad. I totally couldn't remember what it was so I just wrote a sentence that has an ambiguous meaning and hope I scrape by with a few marks. Quite lucky that almost nothing for xia came out, or I would have died-ed. Oh yeah, I bet I died for zuowen. Shuhui's account is so funny, she'll probably get quite high for content. Mine was darn boring. I had to limit myself to 3 sheets of gao zi and crossed my fingers hard that I was supposed to write about the process of zi bei-ing and not jian fei-ing. I've already analysed the question. If I'm marked li ti, I'll go and argue with the teacher. The question says talk about the process and your feelings, not talk about the process of slimming down and your feelings, therefore I am right in my own sense. Still, I should count myself lucky if I do get about 45. It felt like quite a badly-written essay.

Hahaha, I love National Day. See I'm so patriotic. National Day is great because there are almost 3 full days of holidays!! Yay, let's have National Day once a month =D

Oh, let me talk about what I did on Friday afternoon/night. I reached home early for once, on the comp and tried without success for half an hour to connect to the internet. After which I realised the wire was disconnected -_-;; Must have kicked it in the morning. Then after settling my dear wonderful torrents I on the tv and found out they were re-showing Tu Si Nan Zhi Wen. Haha, watched a bit of that and some crappy gu zhuang show. Then took a nap. Woke up around 6+ to shower, have dinner, then it was pianotime until 10.30 AND THEN, I spent an absolutely wonderful time watching the remaining half an hour of Tan Ban Zhuan Jia and then Inuyasha (I'm getting more and more hooked with each episode *lets out fangirlish squeal*). THEN I retreated happily to the comp, spolit my ruler trying to unjam the CD burner drive, managed to irritate it enough to unjam itself, burnt a few GBs worth of stuff and watched a d/led video =D Uh, and a few other half d/led vids heehee. At 1.30, I decided it was time to study chinese. Therefore I studied about 2 kes before falling asleep. Haha, wasn't Friday night/Sat morning fun? Heehee, one of the reasons was because it's just a mock that isn't counted. I'm practical =D

Lol, I'm ranting about shows again. The old me is coming back! Uh, the crappy blog is back too heh.

38 days left...
